The First Battle of the Border in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico was an 18-Hole competition played June 28th along with the FGMX Tour 250 tournament on June 27th-28th, 2019. The Second Battle of the Border was played during the AFGL tour event on November 7th and 8th at Tahquitz Creek Golf Club in Palm Springs, California, along with the AFGL Tour 250 tournament during the FootGolf Desert Storm 2019.

The Third Battle of the Border will be played on the 26th of January at Chimera Golf Club in Henderson, NV along with the Las Vegas Open January 26th · 28th, 2024.

Format of competition and replacements are decided by U.S. and Mexican Federations.

Starting in 2024 the teams created for this competition will be the National FootGolf Teams of Mexico and the United States. Member players of AFGF and FMFG have qualified through a process decided by each federation. Participants must meet the qualification set by the FIFG to compete in a National Team.

FIFG requires a player to either represent their birth country or resident countries for the FIFG World Cup or other International Competitions. A player may only change the country they represent once.

The Federacion Mexicana de FootGolf (FMFG) and the American FootGolf Federation (AFGF) will cover the green fees for the Battle of the Border lll 18-Hole round.

Starting in 2024 this is an annual event between the Seleccion Mexicana de FootGolf (Team Mexico) and the U.S. National FootGolf Team (Team USA), and one round will be played in each country each year. Players qualify for an invitation through tournaments, national ranking or were invited to participate based on open spots.

8 pairs, 4 pairs play alternate shots & 4 pairs play four-ball.

8 SENIOR MEN CATEGORY

4 pairs, 2 pairs playing alternate shot & 2 pairs playing fourball.

4 WOMEN CATEGORY

2 pairs, 1 pair playing alternate shot & 1 pair playing fourball.

2 SENIOR MEN + CATEGORY

1 pair playing fourball.
